Sadako vs. Kayako has already made an early impression in North America after a video of Sadako and Kayako participating in the ceremonial pitch of a baseball game, tied to the Japanese release of the film, went viral. In June, Bloody Disgusting’s Brad Miska praised Sadako vs. Kayako, declaring it “a love letter to J-Horror”. The

Sadako is a noble effort to recapture its creeping sense of threat while also re-engaging with the more mystical elements of the character’s origins. The balance between old world and new media
Sadako vs Kayako is a coming together of two similar spiritual forces, and it is interesting to see just how they will do battle. Depending on what you want from the film though you may be disappointed. What we see in the film is a much more Japanese style of horror (which comes as no surprise) which means a slow methodical build-up to the
Earlier this year, news of a mash-up film titled Sadako vs. Kayako hit the net, though as it turned out, it was merely a fun April Fools’ joke. But that joke has become reality, as J-horror
Meanwhile, Kayako was a relatively normal person who was transformed out of anger and pain, with the biggest thing fueling her is her grudge. Basically, Sadako has the means to effectively attack another onryo, but Kayako’s rage is so strong that it prevents her from disappearing. It’s literally an unstoppable force vs. an immovable object! Hope you all enjoy! Name: Kayako Saeki. Alias: The Onryo. Weapon: None. The Onryo will reach out. On hit, the Survivor will perceive them holding on tightly before they either get far enough from the Onryo, or the recovery animation plays out. Potential visual for the attack. In one corner: the ghost of an accursed video tape. Although she who was murdered and stuffed in a well, her latent psychic powers let her rage live on long after her death. Jason hears Kayako, the titular spirit from the Grudge, fall down the steps into view, emitting a death rattle that Jason takes as a battle cry. Composite Jason (sans X), armed with a machete and not much else, vs Kayako and whatever other manifestations of The Curse that would be relevant in this situation. Battle begins on the ground floor of The actual throw down – and the entirety of the interactions between Sadako and Kayako – are relegated to very late in the film. The fight itself is too-brief, as if Shiraishi never quite figured out the mechanics of having two ghosts throw spectral fists. The majority of Sadako vs. Kayako is, perhaps wisely, the Sadako show. Maybe i was just in a strange place when i first watched it but did anyone else think this movie was super enjoyable? The concept is a little…
